Dr. Mohamed Ashraf Iqbal is currently a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of HSBC Amanah. He is also an Independent Non-Executive Chairman for HSBC Amanah and Independent Non-Executive Director for Fairview International Schools, the largest network of fully accredited International Baccalaureate Schools in Malaysia.
Dr Ashraf is currently a Director of MindSpring Sdn Bhd, a consulting firm that he founded in 2005 where he specialises in strategy and performance.
He has worked across a spectrum of roles, organisations and geographies. In his role as an executive, he held various positions in Human Resources, Distribution and Business Re-engineering with Shell in Malaysia. He was the General Manager for Human Resouruces in Proton Berhad and subsequently appointed as Managing Director for Proton in the UK and Europe. This was followed by a stint in consulting as a Regional Director of the HayGroup. After that he was appointed as Group Managing Director for a European automotive Marque. Ashraf also acts as an advisor to two technology companies.

Dr Farrukh Habib holds a PhD degree in Islamic Finance from INCEIF, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He acquired a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in banking and finance from Queen Mary, University of London, UK. Prior to that, he obtained master’s and bachelor’s degrees from University of Karachi, both in economics. He also received traditional Islamic (Sharia) knowledge through an extensive eight-years-course in Jamia Uloom-E-Islamya Banuri Town, Karachi, acquiring another bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Islamic studies.
Raj Mohamad (Raj) as he is commonly known has been in the financial industry for over 23 years. Having worked in the risk management and private banking it provided him an invaluable opportunity to understand the workings of the conventional financial markets. Masumi Hamahira has more than 19 years working experience in the banking and finance industry at MUFG Bank and was appointed as Advisor for Islamic Finance Department of MUFG Bank (Malaysia) in 2011.
Before coming to Malaysia, Masumi was attached to several key divisions in Tokyo Head office of MUFG Bank. He was responsible for corporate finance, derivatives marketing and structuring as well as global business planning.
Leveraging Masumi’s experience, MUFG Bank (Malaysia) won Islamic Finance News Awards such as The Most Innovative Deal of the Year 2016, Cross-Border Deal of the Year 2014, Wakalah Deal of the Year 2013, and Structured Finance Deal of the Year 2012.
